Characteristic

Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre was converted from the Old Ping Shan Police Station built in 1899 and is now a Grade II historic building. The compound commands a strategic location at the hilltop near Ping Ha Road. The main building, now the Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery, is a 2-storey structure with an embracing arched verandah. Four lookouts were built into each corner of its roof. The adjacent block, has sloping roof of green tiles, is the Gallery of Ping Shan Heritage Trail. The single-storey annex block, also with green tile roof, is the Community Heritage Gallery.

How to Apply

Call before sending in the application form with information on the location, date, time, nature of activities, synopsis of the film, description of the scenes, props set to be used, size of the crew and cast, equipment list and a copy of the public liability insurance cover.

Processing time : 7 working days for simple/straightforward cases and payment by cash. 10 or more working days for complicated cases such as those involving consultation with relevant government departments/ property owners etc., and/or payment by cheque.

Fees

$7,090 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,990 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable.

If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.

All fees and deposit are to be paid by crossed cheque at least 6 working days before filming.

PLI cover

Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $6.5 million to $30 million (depending on the risk level) in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR and the company at their own expense, with terms and conditions to be approved by the Antiquities and Monuments Office.

Remarks

Filming inside the exhibition galleries and security areas will not be accepted whereas other areas will be considered on individual merits.
Filming can only take place on the closing days (i.e. Mondays, except public holidays) and subject to the availability of the venue.
