Characteristic
Opened in 2013, Oi! is an art space located at Oil Street, North Point. The main structure is a red-brick building complex that showcases the early “Arts and Crafts” architectural style, featuring red brick walls, a coarse stucco façade, Chinese-tiled roof, exposed chimneys and downpipes. Formerly the yacht club clubhouse built in 1908, it has been classified as a Grade II historic building.
Oi! Glassie, located opposite the red-brick building complex, is a two-storey exhibition block opened in 2022. Designed with a minimalist and light-filled style, the building incorporates modern architectural elements—such as a pitched metal roof and red brick walls—to echo the original historic structures, seamlessly integrated with the adjoining outdoor space.

How to Apply
Call before sending in the application form with information on the location, date, time, nature of activities, synopsis of the film, description of the scenes, props set to be used, size of the crew and cast, equipment list and sizes and a copy of the public liability insurance cover.
Processing time : at least 7 working days for simple/straightforward cases and payment by cash. 10 or more working days for complicated cases such as those involving consultation with relevant government departments/ property owners etc., and/or payment by cheque.
Fees
$7,110 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $2,050 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable.
If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.
Fees are to be paid before filming.
PLI cover
Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $6.5 million to $30 million (depending on the risk level) in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR and the company at their own expense, with terms and conditions to be approved by the Department.
Remarks
- Filming for commercial purposes inside the exhibition galleries and security areas of the art space will not be accepted whereas other areas will be considered on individual merits.
- Filming can only take place during 1000 - 1400 hours on the closing days (i.e. Mondays, except public holidays).
