Characteristic

The Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei Section Tunnel) is a dual three-lane carriageway with a total length of 4.7 km, including a tunnel of about 3.9 km long. The bypass connects Yau Ma Tei Interchange in West Kowloon to the Kai Tak Development Area and Kowloon Bay in East Kowloon.

How to Apply

Apply in writing to the Operations Manager with information on the location, date, time, production theme, description of the scenes, size of the crew, supply of electricity and equipment to be used.

Processing time is to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Fees

$7,110 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours and $2,050 for each subsequent 4-hour block.

Additional fees will be charged for the operational costs of administering the filming activities.

PLI cover

Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $50 million at their own expense in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR, Chun Wo Tunnel Management Ltd and the company with terms and conditions to be approved by the Tunnel Operator. A copy of the policy should be provided to the Operations Manager. Applicants are advised to contact the Operations Manager for the insurance requirements.

Remarks
  1. Film crews should comply with the Road Tunnels (Government) Ordinance and Regulations and the terms and conditions for location filming as set out by the Tunnel Operator. Please contact the Operations Manager for the details.
  2. Applicants should indemnify the Tunnel Operator for all the damage, loss and cost of repairs as a result of the filming.
  3. Applicants should obtain relevant permits from specific government departments as required.
  4. In case of emergency, film crews should strictly follow the instructions of the tunnel staff, including stopping of the filming when necessary.
  5. Film crews should arrange electricity supply on their own.
  6. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
