Hong Kong Cultural Centre represents a welcome commitment to making Hong Kong one of Asia's major cultural centres. The plain exterior is shaped like a vast winged chute. Together with the neighboring dome-shaped building of the Hong Kong Space Museum, it looks like a bird's wings enshrouding an egg. Adjacent to the Star Ferry is the 44-metre clock tower, built in 1921. It is the only remnant of the grand train station that once stood here. The piazza and the pier rooftop attract young people, tourists and passers-by to stop over and relax. It is an ideal place to capture another facet of the busy city life of Hong Kong.
