Dragon Dance has a long history in China starting from Six Dynasties (beginning 420 AD) and became popular in Sung Dynasty. Dragon is an imaginary animal, which represents the Emperor and symbolises luck, nobility and power. In ancient China, people performed dragon dances to pray for nurturable weather and bumper harvest. Now, it has developed into a cultural art. In Hong Kong, tourists and citizens can see dragon dances at major festivals like Chinese New Year.
