Hong Kong Coliseum is one of the best equipped multi-purpose indoor stadiums in Hong Kong. It plays host to numerous large-scale sporting and entertainment activities and cultural events throughout the year. It is situated next to the MTR Hung Hom Station facing Victoria Harbour. Surrounded by a 22,000 sq m outdoor piazza, it offers a tranquil corner for relaxation to the public in a hectic city. The ceiling height of the arena (which has an unobstructable floor area of 1,680 sq m) is 23 m and the floor loading is 2,840 kg per sq m. The arena has concrete floor which can be overlaid with either demountable wooden flooring or with rubberized rollouts. The 12,500-seater coliseum is a popular venue not only for pop concerts by international and local performers but also for world-class entertainment spectaculars, sports and cultural events. The 4-side video screen (4.3 m x 3.2 m each side) above the centre of the arena is a special feature of the coliseum. It enables spectators to watch larger-than-life telecasts in colour, including close-ups, replays and slow-motion shots of the events. Sometimes, the venue is packed with university graduates when congregations are held. Before and after the events, thousands of university graduates usually hang around the piazza taking snap shots happily to put a full stop to their school life.
Lighting system, sound equipment, electronic scoreboard, four-sided colour telecast screen, function room, fully carpeted VIP lounge (furnished with deluxe leather sofas, side tables and a bar counter), changing rooms, first-aid room, etc
