Spring Lantern (Yuen Siu) Festival, the 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar, is popularly known as Chinese Valentine's Day. This festival marks the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Restaurants and parks are decorated with colourful lanterns in traditional designs. There are lantern carnivals in different parks and public venues in Hong Kong (such as the Hong Kong Cultural Centre) every year. People gather to enjoy the spectacular lantern displays and to play games of solving riddles written on lanterns.
