Lei Yue Mun is situated at the south-eastern part of Kwun Tong and there are about 1,000 households with about 3,500 people. Villages in Lei Yue Mun have been in existence for more than 150 years. In the past, villagers worked as farmers, fishermen and quarry workers and in the 1960s they started to operate seafood restaurants in Lei Yue Mun. To promote Lei Yue Mun's seafood, the Lei Yue Mun Seafood Festival was first organised in 1992 and subsequently held annually. During the festival, Chinese opera and lion dance will be organised. Restaurants in Lei Yue Mun will feature special menus, create attractive promotions and offer special bonus dishes. Along the main path leading to the lighthouse and Tin Hau Temple, the beautiful scenery of the Hong Kong harbour is in view.
