Ko Shan Theatre is situated in the Ko Shan Road Park. Opened in 1983. The theatre has an air-conditioned and upgraded auditorium with 1,031 seats. The stage lighting, sound system and scenery suspension grids and rigging facilities have been re-designed by professionals. It is suitable for Chinese opera performances, dance, music, school functions and community arts activities. The new wing of the theatre, built on former tennis courts of Ko Shan Road Park, was opened in October 2014. It is a 5-storey building with an area of 4,000 sq m. It has a 600-seat auditorium and a stage equipped with a fly tower and modern stage equipment, which is suitable for medium-scale performances, experimental productions and performances by budding troupes. There are also an exhibition gallery with an area of 150 sq m and a green roof with a lawn area and benches.
Call before sending in the application form with information on the location, date, time, nature of activities, synopsis of the film, description of the scenes, props set to be used, size of the crew and cast, equipment list and a copy of the public liability insurance cover.
Processing time : 7 working days for simple/straightforward cases and payment by cash. 10 or more working days for filming at the hiring units of performing venues, and complicated cases such as those involving consultation with relevant government departments/ property owners etc., and/or payment by cheque.

If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.
All fees and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable are to be paid 6 working days before filming.
Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $6.5 million to $30 million (depending on the risk level) in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR and the company at their own expense, with terms and conditions to be approved by the Department.
Compliments to the government and public bodies that have agreed to consider applications to hire premises or facilities under their management for location filming.
