The Tin Hau Temple in Stanley was first built in 1767. During World War I, the local villagers sought refuge inside the temple to escape from the warfare. Since then, there is hilarious atmosphere with flourishing incense on Tin Hau Birthday, the 23rd of the 3rd month of the Lunar Calendar.
