Tam Kung Festival is on the 8th day of the 4th month of the lunar calendar. There are various Tam Kung Temples in Hong Kong, the largest one being located in Shau Kei Wan. The festival is celebrated with dragon dance and parade attracting a lot of tourists. Born in the Huizhou prefecture in Guangdong province during the Yuan dynasty, Tam Kung was capable of forecasting the weather and healing diseases when he was a 12-year-old child. Like Tin Hau, he was worshipped by fishermen as the Emperor of the Sea.
