Kat O Chau, or Crooked Island, is located in the northeast of the New Territories. It is one of the few fishing villages of Hong Kong which still maintain a small number of floating homes at the seashore. Filmmakers can also capture snap shots of women in their bamboo-made sun-shields, drying agricultural produce or selling fish outdoors. Their traditional clothing is a bit different from that of the women in the city. Their clothing preserves a simplistic rural style.
No application is required. Please complete the notification form of location filming in public areas and send it by fax to Police Public Relations Wing for record. If the filming is to take place in country park areas, a country park permit should be sought from Agricultural, Fisheries and Conservation Department.
Compliments to the government and public bodies that have agreed to consider applications to hire premises or facilities under their management for location filming.
