Characteristic

The Airport Core Programme Exhibition Centre is a single-storey distinctive white structure built by a private developer more than 60 years ago. It was later bought by the government as staff quarters and renovated into an exhibition centre in 1996. There are 5 exhibition areas, displaying models, photos and descriptions of the 10 airport-related projects to give a full picture of the entire construction project. The 10 projects are: the new airport at Chek Lap Kok, Lantau Link, Airport Railway, Western Harbour Crossing, North Lantau Expressway, Route 3, West Kowloon Expressway, West Kowloon Reclamation, Central and Wan Chai Reclamation and Tung Chung Development. The viewing platform on the roof and the garden outside the exhibition centre command a magnificent view of Tsing Ma Bridge. Binoculars are available for visitors to view the bridge. The centre is a Grade III historic building.

How to Apply

Send the application form 14 working days in advance of the filming date to Tsuen Wan District Officer (Attn : Senior Executive Officer (District Management) ) with information on the location, date, time, synopsis of the film, description of the scenes, size of the crew, details on the use of government power supply, equipment required and the use of any explosives and/or inflammable materials.

Processing time : 10 working days for simple cases.

Fees

$6,870 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,935 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable.

If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.

All fees are to be paid no less than 4 working days before filming.

Applicants may be required to effect a public liability insurance at their own expense in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR and the company, with terms and conditions to be approved by the Department.

Remarks

The name of the property shall not be identified unless prior permission is sought.
The nature of the film shall not be a cause of embarrassment to the HKSAR Government, the property itself or any of its occupants whether they be tenants or their visitors or other invitees or licensees. Nor shall it offend the laws of Hong Kong or be of immoral, defamatory or political flavour.
