Junk Bay Chinese Permanent Cemetery
Characteristic
Junk Bay Chinese Permanent Cemetery is built on Chiu Keng Wan Shan to the east of Yau Tong, covering an area of approximately 285,000 sq m. It overlooks the area of Tseung Kwan O as well as the Eastern District of Hong Kong. The cemetery is also facilitated with a columbarium and a Garden of Remembrance.

How to Apply
Call Senior Officer (Operations Support1) before sending in the application form to relevant board of management via Film Promotion and Facilitation Section of Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency. Applicants must provide synopsis of the film, descriptions and scripts of the relevant scenes, and a copy of the public liability insurance cover.
Processing time : at least 10 working days
Longer processing time may be required for complicated cases.
Fees
First 4-hour session : $8,000
Each subsequent 4-hour session or part thereof : $2,000
Fees are to be paid before filming and the fees cannot be refunded.
PLI cover
Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $5 million in the joint names of the Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries and the applicant at their own expense.
Remarks
- Filming can only be conducted during 0900 - 1600 hours.
- In the course of filming, respect for the dead must at all times be shown. Filming shall not cause nuisance or disturbance to grave sweepers, due regard must be paid to the dignity and serenity of the venue.
- The nature of the films should not be of immoral, defamatory or political nature.
- No filming will be allowed during funeral services without special permission of the approving officer.
- No close-up shots of individual graves/niches will be allowed to avoid displaying the inscriptions and photos on the tombstone plaques in the film.
- No shooting will be allowed during the Ching Ming Festival period (from 1 March to 31 May in general) and the Chung Yeung Festival period (from 1 September to 30 November in general), the exact dates are subject to the final decision of the Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries (BMCPC).
- Filming may be suspended or cancelled if road closure arrangement is imposed by the Police due to large numbers of grave sweepers.
- The venue should be reinstated and cleared up immediately after filming.
- All liabilities, requests and legal responsibilities arising from the filming activities will be borne by applicants.
- A roller credit for the assistance of "The Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries" should be shown at the end of the film.
- BMCPC reserves the right to approve or reject an application.
