How to Apply

Send in the application form at least 10 clear working days in advance of the filming date to the Communications and Public Affairs Section with information on the location, date, time, nature of production, synopsis of the film, detailed description of the scenes and relevant scripts, cast, size of the crew and use of government power supply. The applicant should also specify if any Immigration personnel/ equipment or alteration to the Immigration premises is required.

Fees

$6,870 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,935 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable. The charges are to be paid before filming.

If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.

Remarks
  1. All applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  2. The nature of the film shall not be a cause of embarrassment to the HKSAR Government, offend the laws of HKSAR or be of immoral, defamatory or political flavour, nor impair the image of the Immigration Department.
  3. The filming shall not cause any inconvenience or hindrance to the operation and users in Immigration premises, nor cause damages to any property on the Immigration premises.
  4. Applicants are required to secure permit from relevant authorities for filming prior to shooting in restricted areas and specified locations.
  5. Applicants are required to comply with terms and conditions of location filming as set forth by the Department for respective venues.
  6. Filming should be carried out according to the approved application details and scripts.
