Western Harbour Tunnel
Characteristic
Western Harbour Tunnel is Hong Kong's first dual 3-lane harbour tunnel constructed between Sai Ying Pun and the West Kowloon Reclamation. It is the largest harbour tunnel in Hong Kong. The immersed tube tunnel is 1,363 m in length with designated driving speed limit of 70 km per hour. Its practical capacity is 180,000 vehicles a day, 50% greater than each of the existing tunnels. There are 2 bus interchanges located at either side of the toll plaza. The administration building is 3-storey with a total gross floor area of 4,280 sq m.
