Characteristic

The stone steps at Duddell Street, Central were built between 1875 and 1889. 4 gas lamps surmounting the balustrades at the two sides of the steps are the only surviving gas street lamps in Hong Kong. The lamps are operated by the Hong Kong and China Gas Company as objects of historical interest. It has been a set in numerous Hong Kong films and television drama series.
