Wan Chai Environmental Resource Centre was built between 1912 and 1913. It was used as a post office from 1915 to 1992 and was declared a monument in 1990. It was the oldest post office in Hong Kong. The L-shape building is situated at the junction of Wan Chai Gap Road and Queen's Road East. It is a simple pitched-roof structure with gable ends and mouldings. The post office was turned into an environmental resource centre in 1993 where there is a reference library with books, videos, slides and CD-ROMs on global environmental issues. The wall of the Environmental Garden is made of recycled brick recovered during the refurbishment of the post office building. There is also a display corner and a mini waterfall in the Garden.
