Eastern Magistrates' Court Building is located in Tai On Street in Sai Wan Ho. The multi-storey building has a practical design. The building is marked with yellow strips of painted walls on the top and ground floors. At the entrance area are front steps and an arched awning. The court building consists of Coroner's Court, Eastern Magistrates' Courts and Obscene Articles Tribunal. Some parts of the building are occupied by sub-offices of various government departments, etc.
Call before sending in the application form at least 1 month in advance of the filming date with information on the location, purpose of using Judiciary premises, date, time, description of the scenes and number of people involved. Scripts with dialogues of the scene are required.
$6,870 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,935 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable. Both are to be paid before filming.
If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.
Compliments to the government and public bodies that have agreed to consider applications to hire premises or facilities under their management for location filming.
