Pottinger Street in Central is named after the first governor of Hong Kong, Sir Henry Pottinger (1843 - 1844). It is well known for its stone stairway. The street starts from Connaught Road Central and leads up to Hollywood Road. There are shops and stalls selling clothes and groceries. It is one of the few areas that still maintain the city look of old Hong Kong.
