Victoria Harbour is well-acclaimed as one of the best and busiest deep-water harbours in the world. As more and more commercial buildings are built upon land reclaimed from the sea along the shore, it becomes even busier. In 1840, the harbour was 2 km wide. After these years, reclamation projects have almost halved the original width of the harbour. Central, the Mid-Levels, Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai are the best place to admire the magnificent views of Victoria Harbour. Fireworks displays are usually held in the harbour every year in February to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Filming along the Central Fairway of Victoria Harbour from the Western District to Chai Wan, the camera can pan along the coast to capture contrasting images like waterfront warehouses and residential buildings in the west and modern skyscrapers in Central and Wan Chai and highrises in North Point.
