North District Town Hall
Characteristic
North District Town Hall and the surrounding residential buildings are built at a bumper-to-bumper distance. Those pretty and comfortable rooms of the buildings overlook the rooftop (about 25 m high) of the town hall. The footbridges leading to the MTR Sheung Shui Station overlook the town hall at a high angle. With a 6 storey design, the town hall looks like an ordinary secondary school suitable for mock-up of a local government school. Rows of bicycles parked at the road side highlight the rural feature of Sheung Shui.

How to Apply
Call before sending in the application form with information on the location, date, time, nature of activities, synopsis of the film, description of the scenes, props set to be used, size of the crew and cast, equipment list and a copy of the public liability insurance cover.
Processing time : 7 working days for simple/straightforward cases and payment by cash. 10 or more working days for filming at the hiring units of performing venues, and complicated cases such as those involving consultation with relevant government departments/ property owners etc., and/or payment by cheque.

If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.
All fees are to be paid before filming.
PLI cover
Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $6.5 million to $30 million (depending on the risk level) in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR and the company at their own expense, with terms and conditions to be approved by the Department.
Remarks
- Filming of the following scenes is strictly prohibited :
- lighting of fire or the use of fireworks or explosive materials; and
- vehicle chasing/rallying, including motorcycle and bicycle.
- The name of the property shall not be identified unless prior permission is sought.
- The nature of the film shall not cause any embarrassment to the HKSAR Government, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department or any of the occupants of the property. Nor shall it contain any immoral, illegal, defamatory or political material.
- There shall not be any close-up shots of individual spectators.
Compliments to the government and public bodies that have agreed to consider applications to hire premises or facilities under their management for location filming.
