Pak Sha O Youth Hostel
Characteristic
Opened in 1975, Pak Sha O Youth Hostel is the 3rd youth hostel in Hong Kong and located on Hoi Ha Road, Pak Sha O. The hostel is formerly an abandoned village school with 3 school blocks, a caretaker's house and a playground. In 1985, the compound was redeveloped and re-opened with new facilities. The old classroom was refurbished to become a kitchen and a common room, and dormitory blocks were built. Ablutionary facilities were added in 1998 for campers. The design of the hostel won the President's Prize in the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Annual Awards 1986.
