Characteristic

Occupying a site area of 42 hectares, Tseung Kwan O Stage II/III Closed Landfill is located near the MTR LOHAS Park Station, with the entrance located near the junction of Chun Yat Street and Chun Sing Street. Built along the slope, the site is planted with trees and surrounded by hills on three sides. The other side faces the Lei Yue Mun Channel and Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate.

How to Apply

Send in the application form with information on the location, date, time, synopsis of the film, description of the scenes, size of the crew, use of government power supply and utilities, and details of any setting or alteration to the property.

Processing time : 7 working days for simple/straightforward cases. Longer processing time may be required for consultation with other government departments/ parties concerning the application.

Fees

$7,090 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,990 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable. Both are to be paid before filming.

If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming or extra services are involved, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.

PLI cover

Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $20 million in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR, the operator of the closed landfill and the company at their own expense.

Remarks

Filming is normally allowed during 0900 - 1600 hours on weekdays.
Drugs, alcohol, smoking, lighting of fire and the use of fireworks, explosives or any pyrotechnic materials, and bringing in animals or poultry are strictly forbidden.
Vehicles/equipment over 11 tonnes and 5.5 tonnes are not permitted in Shuen Wan Closed Landfill and other closed landfills respectively.
Road speed limit of the respective closed landfills should be followed.
The name of the property shall not be identified unless prior permission is sought.
The nature of the film shall not be a cause of embarrassment to the HKSAR Government, the property itself or any of its occupants. Nor shall it offend the laws of Hong Kong or be of immoral, defamatory or political flavour.
The applicant should ensure that no damage shall be caused to the property.
The site must be properly cleared and reinstated after the filming.
