Occupying a site area of 65 hectares, Pillar Point Valley Closed Landfill is located in Tuen Mun Area 46, with the entrance located at Mong Fat Street. The site is surrounded by hills on three sides. Part of the closed landfill is the Castle Peak Firing Range Area. The rest of the landfill is a vast piece of grassland with an area of around 4.5 hectares, which is available for location filming.
Send in the application form with information on the location, date, time, synopsis of the film, description of the scenes, size of the crew, use of government power supply and utilities, and details of any setting or alteration to the property.
Processing time : 7 working days for simple/straightforward cases. Longer processing time may be required for consultation with other government departments/ parties concerning the application.
$6,870 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,935 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable. Both are to be paid before filming.
If extra government personnel is required to assist in the filming or extra services are involved, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.
Applicants shall effect a public liability insurance in the sum of $20 million in the joint names of the Government of the HKSAR, the operator of the closed landfill and the company at their own expense.
