Wo Hop Shek Cemetery

Characteristic

Wo Hop Shek Cemetery is one of the cemeteries in the New Territories. It is established along a peak, Pak Tai To Yan, which benefits from the views of Fanling. Gallant Garden in the cemetery provides permanent earth burial for civil and non-civil servants who die or are killed while performing an exceptional act of bravery while on duty.

How to Apply

Contact the Senior Health Inspector (C&C) of the venue concerned before submitting the application form at least 10 working days in advance of the filming date with information on the location, date, time, purpose of using the venue, synopsis of the film, size of the crew, cast, etc.

If extra government resources are required for the filming, the processing time may be longer. You may also apply online.

Fees

$6,870 (basic charge) for the first 4 hours, $1,935 for each subsequent 4-hour block and a refundable deposit equal to the fees payable. Both are to be paid before filming.

If extra government resources are required for the filming, the actual cost plus overheads will be charged.

Remarks

In the course of filming, respect for the dead must at all times be shown, and due regard must be paid to the dignity and serenity of the venue.
Filming is not allowed during funeral services unless prior permission of the approving officer is sought.
No close-up shots of individual graves/niches will be allowed save with the written permission from the nearest relatives of the deceased and the approving officer.
No filming shall be conducted during Ching Ming Festival (three weeks before or after) and Chung Yeung Festival (two weeks before or after).
